Message from Danny

 

We all know that Albany is broken. Partisan posturing and political pressure are the weapons of choice for the majority of our legislators. Staten Islanders are "mad as hell" and we aren't going to take it anymore from Albany or Washington D.C. It is time the people of Staten Island rise up and take back our representative republic. This is why I chose to run for New York State Assembly. We need true grass roots representation in Albany. All we get year after year from both parties are professional politicians and lawyers who represent one sub-culture of the population: politicians.

Who pays for this nonsense? The taxpayers. Passing the budget is the most important task we assign our lawmakers in Albany, and this is the one task they consistently fail to accomplish. Then at the last minute we are forced to accept whatever emergency spending bills they push on us; with God only knows what kind of pork slipped in. This politics as usual technique of ruling over the middle class is at its end. The tea party movement is supporting candidates all over this country who are representing THEM, because they are "THEM".

Despite the cheerleading from the main stream media the economy on Main Street is not recovering. The rate of unemployment is still rising and we need to take measures to create jobs in the small business sector, instead of creating more bureaucracy to create temporary government jobs. With fiscally responsibly policies, a reduction in taxes, and a drastic reduction in spending we can once again employ people in the private sector to solve the challenges we now face.

I am a true grass roots tea party candidate. I answer to no special interest group. I answer only to my creator who has put in me a raging desire to protect Liberty. As your representative in the New York State Assembly I will bridge the gap between Albany and Main Street by communicating what is going on in the legislature bringing much needed transparency to the political process in New York State. I will carry the voice of Main Street to Albany to be sure that we are heard! (Even if I have to bring my bullhorn.)
